You Can Help

Most organizations accept direct donations of your time or money. Contact them directly, or call Help Line at 570-829-1341 or 888-829-1341 for more information regarding which organization might be able to accept your donation. Some of the items organizations are looking for are food, furniture, clothing, items for the ill and handicapped and household items.

Looking for information about a charity? The PA Bureau of Charitable Organization’s web site maintain registration and financial information on over 9,500 charities soliciting in the Commonwealth, as well as 377 professional solicitors and fundraising counsels.  Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance reports on charities and other organizations that solicit nationally. If you do not see a particular national charity on this list, feel free to ask them about it.

Blood Donations
Contact your local Red Cross Chapter or call 800-432-8045 for donation site information in NEPA or check their web site at Red Cross NEPA Region Blood Services.  You can also check out the monthly list on the Current Happenings Page.

Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer Action Center acts as a clearinghouse for volunteer opportunities in the Upper Luzerne County community, 570-829-6711.

Volunteers Center of Greater Hazleton acts as a clearinghouse for volunteer opportunities in the Lower Luzerne County community, 570-453-0426.
