Many of the programs that help thousands of individuals
have
already
cut back on services and staff to try and maintain providing
help to
those that are
most in need. Human service organizations

programs.
Without funding for human services in the budget, not only will there
layoffs but many
of the programs that people have counted on over the years will not be
around to help out.

Assembly, will give you contact information for your state
representatives and senators. In the upper right hand corner is a
box,
"Find Members by", entering your zip code will list your legislators, or
by selecting
your county you can see which legislators cover your community.

legislators name and you will have access to their contact information.

call and tell them that you support continued funding for human services
in
Pennsylvania such as Help Line. If you wish to assist Help Line in
its efforts to
continue helping the citizens of Northeastern Pennsylvania you can

AT&T
Wireless offers tips on how to make the best use of
cell phones in case
of natural
disasters or other catastrophes.
- Program all emergency & family contact information into your phone.
-Have a communications plan.
Designate someone outside the area as a central contact.
- Keep batteries charged at all times, keep
available extra batteries or a car charger
in cases of extended power outages.
-Keep your phone dry and out of the elements.
-Forward your home number to your cell phone. Forwarding is done
from the telephone
companies central office, so your calls can be
forwarded even if your landline is
out of order.
-Use text messaging, which often will go through more quickly than a
voice call.
-Keep non-emergency calls to a minimum and limit calls to the most
important ones.
